Hi. So I got a new netbook for christmas. An Hp netbook. It has windows 7 starter and 1 gig of ram. Anyway, when I tried to install jaws on it, it installed fine but now when I try to run it it says the program I'm trying to run is too big for my memory. This is new to me because I've never had that happen before with any version of jaws I have used. Has this happened to anyone else before and if so what did you do to fix it?

why in heaven did you get one gig for windows7? XP I can see but windows7 no. This is just my thoughts.

I don't know if this is so, but I'm guessing it's something to do with the windows 7 starter. I don't think it's adequate for many blind people to use, due to it's restrictiveness.
If you could upgrade it to home premium, I think you'd be fine.

No starter will run with Jaws, so something else has to be happening. It's not the best, or fastest, but it will work. All net books come with 1 GB, so increasing that would help greatly. I think I'd 1. take it back to the place it was purchased from and have them help with your install, or 2. Ask Freedom Scientific about it. My feeling is that 2 many programs are running that were installed with the OS from the start and should be disabled, such as, if it runs Norton, or some large program like that. HP also installs lots of things you really don't need running, or at all, so if you are not tech savvy enough to go to start then run, then type in msconfig and disable all of it, then get assist. That will solve your issue.
